Hello again everyone and a very happy new year as this is the 1st update of the new century ... xcept 4 the "Rave Un2 The Year 2000" In-Demand special. Things have been rather quiet, so let's see what may be in store in the future in news. Newz Item #1-VH-1 Divas Live Male v. Female It has just been reported that the VH-1 Honors program, which in the past two years has been women only ("VH-1 Divas"), will be another diva-type show, but with a twist. In the works will be a Male Divas showcase. The thought being thrown around right now is a diva contest, males versus females, with a male diva crowned and a female diva crowned. But expect it to change for as we know egos run too high in the music field. Now 4 legal reasons, because no "contracts" or "agreements" are signed, VH-1 Honors producers are hoping this to be their line-up in April -- Mariah Carey, Madonna, Tina Turner, Santana, Michael Jackson and . This is VH-1's wish list, whether they get it is another story. Mariah, Santana and Tina have been reached and asked. It was requested thru still-president of Arista, Clive Davis, that along with Santana VH-1 would really like The Artist 2 perform at the event. Just imagining half of these stars on stage 2gether is strictly mind-blowing, but will this actually happen??? Time will tell but on VH-1's part, they want there. Newz item #2-"Rave Un2 The Year 2000" video packed with extras As was 1st told to 777 Update "Purpleheads"and Prince.Org, there will be a video released 4 the "Rave un2 The Year 2000" special with bonus footage. Now what will appear has yet to be disclosed but xpect at least 30 minutes of bonus interviews and performance clips. It was slated for release in February but it is not looking likely. Newz item #3- cracks down on bootlegs online As was 1st told to 777 Update "Purpleheads"and Prince.Org, was going to crackdown on eBay's auction of Prince related bootleg and promotional items. Fed up with the growing amounts of unreleased material that was available for auction, compact discs, videos etc., eBay has been canceling all bids from which they say Paisley Park Enterprises alerts the online auction site that there are illegal unreleased material being sold by the autioner. So ebay has been freezing auctions at a very high rate. we here at The 777 update feel bitter and at the same time vindicated because we try and break stories before any "official or unofficial clubs." So when we broke the story, people thought it was another false posting on certain websites. We would like to reiterate that in the past year and a half The 777 Update has been in effect; we have never posted anything untrue. Now on other smaller sites like Yahoo, unreleased material is still being sold. The best bet there is is to trade unreleased materials among collector's and if you like, e-mail us back and we will send you a link to a trade and other forum chatroom. Newz item #4-The next single off Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic will be ... There has been much speculation on what the next single from "Rave" will be. The speculation comes from Arista and NPG Records not knowing whether to release "So Far, So Pleased," or "Hot Wit U" or "Man O' War" or to release two (2) singles at one time. Remixes of "Hot Wit U" were made around the time of the "Rave 2000" pay-per-view special and has been serviced to 2 stations - one in MPLS and the other in Detroit. So far of the 2, only MPLS has played the new version of "Hot Wit U" full on with singin lines from "Nasty Girl." Sample lyric line - "(T)reat u like the freak of the week" - repeated several times. As soon as word breaks on the single that will be used, u will be fully known. "Rave" is in need of another single, but as good as the video is 4 "Greatest Romance," having a video ready when it is serviced to radio can do nothing but help. * * * * * * * We would like to thank everyone who has fully supported The 777 Update and look forward to giving the information u crave b4 it hits. We will be taking a 2-week vacation in the month of February and may not be able to break news if something happens during that time. A tour and television appearances are still in the works. Although he does not believe in time, only time will tell when these things will happen. So it is wait and see.
